*FTF* What would we name this cache? The sanitised name would be “Don’t Pike It – Hike It at Pike River”. What first came to mind was a few well chosen swear words!!.
1) Located the entrance to the 4WD track and took a leap of faith and drove down.
2) The wheel ruts are tricky to navigate and the incline is moderately difficult
3) Walk back up the hill about 60 metres locate the cache and log the find.
4) Most definitely take some photos – the views are majestic!!
5) Leap back into the geomobile and climb up the track – don’t stop to admire any views!!
We had visions of driving around the flats trying to find another way out if we couldn’t get out the way we got in. Fortunately we made it out and logged our find. Another great location – TFTC gypsycacher.

Arrived Friday midday to find Shane4 and Liz and Bruce already setting up camp. A number of other teams rolled up throughout the afternoon and well into the evening. I think the last team in for the night rolled up around 9.30pm. Great to put faces to names (though I can’t remember that many), Thanks for organising the event Parrothead and Freddo.

The third and last find in the company of Liz and Bruce and Shonkylogic for the day. By comparision to the other two this was almost a walkup. Once again daredevil Bruce scampered down to the banks and found the cache. TFTC Emreyco.

Found in the company of Liz and Bruce and Shonkylogic. Had to decide who was most agile – definitely not me, great teamwork with Bruce and Shonky to snare the cache, log our finds and return it from whence it came. TFTC Emreyco.

Seeing as I set up this little event, I ought to log that I attended.
A big thank you to Thewhitedoggang and AdrianMc for providing Laptop Projectors for each night.
Whilst we got a litttle sidetracked each night, having read the logs to date, everyone seems to have learnt something during the night.
Will probably make the next session “GSAK for Dummies” and have more of a one-on-one to help those just starting off using GSAK.

*FTF* Met up with Bruce and Liz who had just completed Cooltong Cache and Sunset Cache. Bruce had placed the cache and asked if we wouldn’t mind maintaining the cache. However, to do so, we would need to find find it first! So with co-ords in hand we went for a drive this afternoon to find it. The description is very valid – DO NOT try this cache with a conventional 2WD nor in wet weather. I thought it strange that the fence just stopped in the middle of “nowhere”. TFTC Liz and Bruce.

Once again great to catch up with everyone, old and new. Great to put faces to names.
The Pub seems to have gone from one extreme (where we had to wait forever almost for a meal) to the other (today the meal was on the table almost before I’d finished ordering).
